ABOUT

April Henry is an artist, session vocalist, vocal coach, songwriter, and vocal producer in several genres, and is also a conservatory trained opera singer, actress, writer and dancer. She has performed Off-Broadway, toured globally as a pop, rock, R&B, and jazz vocalist and creates music for film and television.

April has had the honor of performing with Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famer Michael Hampton, opening for the Legendary Yardbirds, working with multi-Emmy Award-winning Composer Brad Hatfield, and in the studio with Grammy and Oscar-winning songwriter Dianne Warren.

April Henry’s contributions to music are uniquely diverse in genre and scope and she now has a strong vision for connecting her music to uplift communities in need. In 2024, April lent her voice to the choir of the beautiful Grammy-nominated Impossible Dream album by Aaron Lazar to bring awareness to ALS. Currently, she is now working on her own very special project, Be the Love, which aims to support the non-profit Sojourner, dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating victims of domestic violence.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

After graduating from the New World School of the Arts Conservatory, April wrote and co-directed her award-nominated one-person show, which received stellar reviews and a Carbonell Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play. She began acting in commercials, films, and TV, and later moved to New York City, where she performed Off-Broadway, hosted comedy-variety shows, and became a finalist in the FUSE TV VJ Competition. Now based in LA, in 2025, April hosted red carpet interviews for the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.

April created and performed dance and alternative music in Chicago, NYC and LA. She traveled the globe performing her music in Japan, Sweden, Norway and more. For two years, April was seen touring Hard Rock Cafes on the East Coast, from Miami to Philly, as well as cross-country and up the West Coast from Palm Springs to Anchorage, Alaska and Vancouver, Canada.

April is currently working on several music projects in alignment with her life's purpose: to inspire, to connect and to transform.

“April is amazing.”

  • DAVID SONENBERG
Manager (Wyclef Jean, Joan Osborne, Meat Loaf)

“This leaves an opening for a star to emerge, a fiery-haired April Henry. Whether singing lead or backup, with every flirty, sidelong glance or shake of the hip, she exudes excitement and color. One's eyes always gravitate toward the always-compelling April Henry.  In fact, the two best numbers of the night belong to her. She turns an amazing medley of  ‘Sweet Child O' Mine’/’Like a Prayer’ into a theatrical event reminiscent of what Meatloaf used to do with the Jim Steinman tunes. Her fluid voice can deliver mid-range or fly into the stratosphere for unexpected, beautiful riffs.”

  • KEVIN SCOTT HALL
    EDGE Magazine

“...the woman who makes us laugh and moves us to tears is a funny, fierce force of nature.”

  • CHRISTINE DOLEN
    The Miami Herald

“Obviously, April is talented...the rhyme scheme and her heart are in the message... Vocal / Vocal Delivery / Vocal Sound, she’s an A.”

  • KARL RICHARDSON
Two-time Grammy Award Winning Sound Engineer

“...Brave, affecting voice...between Janis Joplin and Whitney Houston...”

  • TONY GUZMAN,
    Sun Post

“April’s the REAL THING! Effortless execution! ...a singer who really knows how to sing a SONG.  April performs with confidence, allowing the story to build and then climax in a way you never expected with JUMP UP AN DOWN excitement! April is one of those artists-performers that will stick in my mind for good. I'll be very surprised if she stays a “secret” for too much longer. BTW, did I mention that her songs are TOP NOTCH!?”

  • DEENA MILLER,
    Producer/Host of Chick Singer Night

“April is an accomplished actress ready to explode. Expect to see her on the big screen very soon.”

  • DREW CUMMINGS,
    Entertainment Tonight

“...this is it...something different, unsettling, moving...new talent on the verge...a wide eyed performance...”

  • JACK ZINK,
    Sun Sentinel
